Maria Dorothea Adelheid9 RODECURT (Johann Christian Heinrich8 RODECURT, Johann Carl Julius7, Julius Ernst6, Jobst Hinrich5, Jobst4, Justus3 RODECOURT, Johannes2 RODECORD, Jost1 RODEKORD), a twin to Nicholas Heinrich, was born to Johann Christian Heinrich RODECURT and Adelheit DIERKS 10 May 1818, in Drakenburg, Nienburg Dist., Hanover, Germany and was baptized there on 20 May 1818.[1]  She was married in Germany to Fredrich Heinrich KAMMEYER.   As Henry, age 26 and Doris, age 30, KAMMEYER, they emigrated from Germany on the Ship Edmund, departing from Bremen, Germany, landing at New Orleans, Louisiana on 11 March 1849.  Traveling with them was Georg FREYE, age 16,[2] brother of Dorothea Marie Louise (FREYE) RODEKOHR, wife of Johann F. RODEKOHR, Dorothea’s brother.

On 25 October 1850, Dorothea, listed as Dorothea CAMERMERE, age 32, born in Germany, calculated in 1818; and her son John, age 8/12, born in Missouri, calculated in February of 1850, are living with the Henry D. Hinkle family in Freedom Township, Lafayette County, Missouri.[3]  Her husband, Henry, could not be located. In 1860, at Lexington, Freedom Township.  In 1860, the KAMMEYER’s are listed as Henry KAMMIER, age 37 and Doris, age 42, born, in Hanover, with children, all born in Missouri: John, age 11; Eliza, age 9; Mary; age 7; and Dorinda, female, age 3.[4]   In 1870, in Concordia, Freedom Township, as Henry and Dorethea KAMMEIER, they are farming, with children: John, Elsie, Maria, Dorinda and Henry, age six.[5]  In 1880, Henry and Dorothea are living with son, John and his wife Caroline, at East Freedom Township.[6]  Dorothea died 28 November 1886 in Concordia, Lafayette County, Missouri.[7]

Friedrich Heinrich (Henry) KAMMEYER was born 4 July 1823 in Drakenburg, Hanover, Germany, to Georg and Minna (--?--) KAMMEYER.  He died 21 September 1895 in Concordia, Missouri.[8] 

Of interest to RODEKOHR descendants may be a post on an ancestry message board, where it was thought that Dorothea (RODEKOHR) KAMMEYER had a rare hereditary genetic disease called Von Hipple Landau Syndrome. This disease includes tumors of the brain, kidney, adrenal gland and pancreas.[9]  Attempts have been made to contact the person posting this message without success. 

Children of Maria Dorothea Adelheid9 RODECURT and Friedrich Heinrich KAMMEYER were as follows:[10]

i.    John10 KAMMEYER was born circa 1850 in Missouri.[11]  In 1880, John, his wife Caroline, his parents, Henry and Dorothea, are living at East Freedom Township, Lafayette County, Missouri.  John is farming.  In 1900, John and Caroline are farming at Freedom Township, Lafayette County, with children, Fritz, age 17; Magdalena, age 14, Clara, age 12; Mary, age 9; Carolina, age 6; Henry, age 3; and Alvin, age 1.[12]  In 1910, John and Caroline are farming at Freedom Township with children, Fritz, Marie  age 14 [?], Henry, Alvin and Elisa.[13]     In 1920, at Freedom Township, John and Caroline are farming with children Henry, Alvin and, Elisa, age 8.[14]  They are not found in the 1930 census.

Children of John KAMMEYER and Caroline (--?--) were as follows:

i.  Fritz11 KAMMEYER was born May 1883

 ii.  Magdalena KAMMEYER was born December 1885 

iii. Clara KAMMEYER was born June of 1897

iv. Mary KAMMEYER was born February 1891

v. Carolina KAMMEYER was born December 1893

vi. Henry KAMMEYER was born August 1896

vii. Alvin KAMMEYER was born Febuary 1899.[15]

viii. Elisa KAMMEYER was born, calculated, in 1902.

ii. Elsie KAMMEYER was born circa 1851.

iii. Maria KAMMEYER was born circa 1854.

 iv. Dorinda KAMMEYER was born circa 1858.  She married Heinrich KUCKER on 23 May 1880 in Lafayette County, Missouri.[16]

v.    Henry KAMMEYER was born circa 1864.
